Motilla del Palancar approves land transfer for new 40 MW electrical substation
The Motilla del Palancar City Council has unanimously approved the transfer of a 9,116-square-meter plot of land to the Diputación de Cuenca for the construction of a new regional electrical substation. Located in the Gadea area, the project is expected to cost over 5 million euros and provide 40 MW of power.
Álvaro Martínez Chana, president of the Diputación de Cuenca, stated that the provincial institution will now begin the bidding process for the construction. This infrastructure is considered essential to support industrial growth in Motilla del Palancar and the wider Manchuela region. The project aims to remove technical limitations that have previously hindered investment in the area.
The substation is part of a broader industrialization strategy that includes a plan to expand industrial land by one million square meters. Combined with a similar project in Montalbo, the provincial energy infrastructure plan represents a total investment of approximately 11 million euros, designed to secure power supply along the A-3 and A-31 corridors.
