Motiva invests R$ 50 million to electrify operational fleet

Motiva is investing approximately R$ 50 million to electrify its operational fleet, which includes vehicles used for highway management and rail systems. The company aims to have 125 electrified units in circulation by the end of 2026, up from five at the end of 2024. The investment covers the purchase of 126 units, consisting of 59 electric and 67 hybrid vehicles, such as inspection cars, light tow trucks, and rescue vehicles.

The electrification strategy extends to rail and airport operations. In São Paulo, the Line 4-Yellow metro system has received three electric light vehicles. In Bahia, three electric buses have been deployed for passenger transport between the airport station and the Salvador terminal, a move that has already avoided 140 tons of CO2 equivalent emissions. Additionally, BH Airport in Minas Gerais invested R$ 5 million in two electric buses, and the Goiânia Airport also utilizes electric vehicles.

Beyond fleet upgrades, Motiva is actively participating in industry discussions to support urban mobility. At the Conexão ANPTrilhos event, Motiva Director Juliana Criscuolo emphasized the importance of legal and regulatory security to enable long-term investments and the expansion of passenger rail transport in Brazil.
