Motănică and Fofârlică: Remembering 1990s Moldovan TV icons

The characters Motănică and Fofârlică, beloved by children in Moldova during the 1990s, are being remembered for their impact on a generation through the television program "Minivideosalon."

Actor Petru Hadârcă, who played Motănică, reflected on the 144 episodes produced by the National Television station. Hadârcă noted that during the first three years, the actors had to improvise their own costumes. He also recalled his collaboration with the late puppeteer Victor Ștefaniuc, who played the character Fofârlică.

Composer Anatol Bivol shared insights into the creation of the show's famous song, which became a widespread hit across the country. The production was supported by director Ala Castraveț and Tamara Severin, the latter of whom managed correspondence from thousands of viewers.
