Moto Guzzi opens new factory and museum in Italy

The Piaggio Group has officially opened a new production facility and museum for Moto Guzzi in Mandello del Lario, Italy. The project represents an investment of over 50 million euros and took approximately five years to complete. Designed by architect Greg Lynn, the complex includes an expanded factory with a total area of 38,000 square meters.

The new facility features advanced automation, including a new engine assembly line and a robotic conveyor system. To enhance safety and efficiency, autonomous ground drones are utilized to transport finished motorcycles to the final inspection stage. The expansion increases the brand's production capacity to over 30,000 units per year. The factory also incorporates sustainable elements, such as 1,300 square meters of solar panels.

Adjacent to the factory is a 3,000-square-meter museum showcasing more than 160 historic vehicles, ranging from original prototypes to championship-winning racing machines. The museum includes viewing windows that allow visitors to observe the assembly process. The site also features a 4,200-square-meter multipurpose area containing a store, cafe, event spaces, and a restored wind tunnel laboratory.
