MotoGP 2027 prototype test in Brno showcases new 850cc bikes and Pirelli tires

A closed‑door test was held at the Brno Autodrome the day after the Czech Republic Grand Prix, marking the first on‑track trial of the MotoGP machines built for the 2027 technical regulations. The new rules reduce engine capacity from 1000 cc to 850 cc, replace Michelin with Pirelli as the sole tyre supplier and limit aerodynamic devices such as winglets. All five manufacturers entered two bikes each, with contracted race riders taking part: Ducati (Marc Márquez, Fermín Aldeguer), Aprilia (Marco Bezzecchi, Raúl Fernández), Honda (Luca Marini, Joan Mir), Yamaha (Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, Augusto Fernández) and KTM (Pedro Acosta, plus test riders Dani Pedrosa, Pol Espargaró). No official timing was released, but leaked lap estimates suggested Aprilia was the quickest, followed by Ducati and Honda. Pirelli confirmed the successful completion of its 2027 tyre prototype programme, gathering feedback from the riders to refine the compounds ahead of the 2027 season.
