MotoGP and Triumph undergo strategic shifts in motorsport sectors

MotoGP is entering a period of significant technical and commercial transition. Upcoming changes include the introduction of 850cc prototypes and a reduction in aerodynamic influence through a ban on winglets. Commercially, Liberty Media, the majority shareholder of Dorna (MotoGP Sport Entertainment Group), aims to replicate the growth seen in Formula 1. While tangible changes have been slow to manifest, industry figures like Paolo Pavesio, General Manager of Yamaha Motor Europe, suggest that organizational shifts are beginning to take shape.

Separately, British manufacturer Triumph is accelerating its market expansion. Following a period of record sales, with 141,683 motorcycles delivered in the fiscal year ending June 2025—a 136% increase compared to 2019—the company has announced a new lineup for 2027. Planned releases include the Bonneville T40, T40 Black, Tiger 1200, Street Triple 798, and Tiger 900. This expansion follows a strategy of diversifying product ranges and entering new disciplines, including motocross.
