MotoGP German Grand Prix: Alex Márquez fastest in practice, Raúl Fernández secures podium despite back injury

During Friday’s FP2 session at the Sachsenring, Alex Márquez on a Gresini Ducati posted the quickest lap of the weekend, a 1:20.333, keeping his brother Marc Márquez off the top spot and leaving Raúl Fernández 0.321 seconds behind. Most riders opted for a hard front‑tire and soft rear‑tire setup, with a few variations such as Ai Ogura and Pedro Acosta choosing different compounds.

In the Sunday race, Trackhouse rider Raúl Fernández finished third despite battling a recent back problem and having recovered from appendicitis ten days earlier. He thanked his physiotherapist and the medical centre, saying, “Without the medical centre I would not be here today.” Fernández managed his tires carefully, securing his third podium of the season, while Ai Ogura took second place and the sprint race earlier in the weekend had been won by a different rider.
