MotoGP Group appoints Carlos Ezpeleta as Deputy CEO

MotoGP Group has appointed Carlos Ezpeleta as Deputy CEO to support the organization’s next phase of development following its acquisition by Liberty Media. Carmelo Ezpeleta will continue to serve as CEO.

The new leadership strategy focuses on commercial expansion and maximizing the value of the sport’s global fanbase rather than implementing structural changes to the racing itself. Key objectives include attracting sponsors from non-traditional sectors such as finance, technology, and artificial intelligence, and increasing brand presence outside of race weekends.

Additionally, the strategic plan includes measures to improve the financial conditions of competitors. New agreements with teams reportedly include clauses designed to increase the base salary for riders. Regarding potential collaboration with Formula 1, officials stated that a joint race is not an immediate priority.
