MotoGP: Marquez and Acosta to team up at Ducati in 2027
The 2026 MotoGP season is entering a critical phase as the championship battle narrows between Jorge Martin, Marc Marquez, and Marco Bezzecchi. Bezzecchi, currently third in the standings with 264 points, is aiming to close the gap on Martin (306 points) and Marquez (294 points) during the upcoming Asian series, which includes races in Japan, Indonesia, Australia, and Malaysia.
Looking ahead to the 2027 season, Ducati will undergo a significant roster change as Pedro Acosta joins the team from KTM. Acosta is set to be Marquez’s teammate for the 2027 and 2028 seasons. Marquez has acknowledged Acosta’s talent, stating that he does not underestimate the younger rider and views him as someone capable of competing for wins on the track.
KTM crew chief Paul Trevathan noted that Acosta’s drive to test his own limits will likely create an intense competitive dynamic within the Ducati garage.
