MotoGP Misano: Zarco penalized and Mir reports physical weakness
During the San Marino Grand Prix weekend at Misano, Johann Zarco received a three-place grid penalty for the main race after impeding Marco Bezzecchi during the Q2 qualifying session. Bezzecchi, who secured pole position, expressed frustration after Zarco hindered his final qualifying attempt at turn 10. The penalty applies only to the Sunday race, meaning Zarco will start from 14th position in the main event while retaining his 11th-place standing for the sprint.
Separately, Honda rider Joan Mir reported significant physical weakness during the Misano sessions. After qualifying 17th and finishing 20th in the sprint, Mir stated he felt extremely low on energy, describing his condition as being at less than 50% capacity. While he has not identified a specific cause, such as a virus or fatigue, he has consulted a doctor and expects to receive more clarity regarding his health next week.
