MotoGP Portugal 2025 generates 102 million euros for economy

An EY-Parthenon study commissioned by Parkalgar indicates that MotoGP Portugal 2025 generated 102 million euros in Gross Value Added (GVA) for the Portuguese economy. The event, held at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, is estimated to have supported 2,024 full-time equivalent jobs.

Approximately 166,000 entries were recorded over the competition weekend, attracting spectators from 70 countries. International visitors accounted for 40% of the total attendance. While 60% of spectators originated from Portugal, France (12%) and Spain (8%) were the largest foreign markets. Visitors from outside Europe included individuals from the United States, Canada, and Brazil.

The economic impact was concentrated in the Algarve region, which accounted for roughly 56 million euros of the total GVA. The study noted that tourists from Northern Europe, particularly Finland and Denmark, had the longest average stays. Danish visitors recorded the highest average spending per person at 3,732 euros, with significant expenditures directed toward accommodation and catering.
