MotoGP resolves dispute over two-motorcycle rule at Silverstone

A significant regulatory conflict within MotoGP was resolved at the Silverstone circuit during the British Grand Prix weekend. The dispute centered on whether teams would be permitted to continue using two motorcycles per rider or be restricted to a single bike starting next season.

Carmelo Ezpeleta, representing the championship organization, held individual discussions with representatives from the five competing manufacturers: Ducati, Aprilia, KTM, Honda, and Yamaha. While Aprilia and Ducati had nearly convinced KTM, Honda, and Yamaha to move to a single-bike format, the discussions ultimately resulted in a decision to maintain the two-motorcycle-per-rider rule. This outcome was intended to prevent a perceived decline in competitiveness and spectacle within the championship.
