MotoGP rider Marco Bezzecchi suspended after Brno track‑attendant altercation

Italian MotoGP rider Marco Bezzecchi was excluded from the Czech Republic Grand Prix in Brno after he slapped a track attendant who was assisting his bike following a crash in the sprint race. The stewards deemed the action detrimental to the sport and imposed a race exclusion, causing Bezzecchi to miss valuable championship points and putting his title lead at risk.

Bezzecchi issued a public apology, stating that he regretted his behaviour, accepted the penalty and that Aprilia had considered an appeal but recognised the sanction was justified. He described the incident as his “worst moment on track” and said he wanted the apology to be sincere rather than a tactic to avoid punishment. The suspension leaves his teammate Jorge Martín only 15 points behind in the championship standings.
