MotoGP riders Alex Rins and Franco Morbidelli face uncertain futures

Significant shifts are occurring in the MotoGP rider market as several veterans face uncertain futures or transitions to the World Superbike Championship (WSBK).

Alex Rins, currently riding for Yamaha, has stated that his plans beyond the 2026 season remain undefined. While rumors have linked him to Ducati satellite teams in WSBK, Rins noted that discussions for 2027 have only recently begun and nothing is concrete. Yamaha is preparing for a roster change in 2025, with Jorge Martín and Ai Ogura expected to join the lineup.

In another major development, Franco Morbidelli is reportedly set to leave MotoGP to join the WorldSBK series. He is expected to swap positions with Nicolo Bulega, moving to the dominant Aruba.it Ducati machinery. This move comes as VR46 Racing looks to finalize its 2027 lineup, with Fermin Aldeguer widely expected to secure a seat.
