MotoGP riders participate in karting parade at Motegi
During the Japanese Grand Prix weekend at Motegi, MotoGP organizers replaced the traditional rider parade with a go-karting event. The session featured lighthearted elements, including the distribution of bananas to riders.
Jack Miller was noted for causing chaos during the karting race while using a banana. However, not all riders participated in the spectacle. Marc Márquez declined to join the event, opting instead to manage his physical condition and focus on his championship battle. Márquez explained his decision to DAZN, stating, “I have to define priorities. I have to be selfish and give my maximum when it is necessary, which is during the races.” He noted that he needed to prioritize recovery for his shoulder.
Other riders who did not participate included Johann Zarco, who faced investigation by race stewards, and Fabio Di Giannantonio, who was recovering from a crash during Saturday's activities.
