Motoki Ohmori, lead singer of Mrs. GREEN APPLE, has been revealed as a key character in the TBS Tuesday drama ‘Iroha no Koi wa Jidai o Kakeru’, starring Mone Kamishiraishi. Ohmori will portray Sekitaka Kowa, a real historical mathematician and samurai from the Edo period known for his significant contributions to calculating pi.
The drama is a romantic comedy spanning 300 years, following the soul of an Edo-period girl named Iroha that time-travels into the body of a modern-day elementary school teacher, Iroha Nashiki. The character of Sekitaka Kowa meets Iroha through a messenger service, and the two develop a deep bond despite their differing social statuses as a samurai and a commoner.
In the upcoming second episode, the story follows Iroha as she attempts to navigate modern society and begins her new life as a teacher in the Reiwa era, facing challenges in managing a classroom of third-grade students.
