Widzew Łódź and Górnik Zabrze draw 1-1 in Ekstraklasa clash
Widzew Łódź and league leaders Górnik Zabrze played to a 1-1 draw in a 12th-round PKO Ekstraklasa match. Karol Świderski opened the scoring for Widzew in the 16th minute with a header following a corner kick. However, Górnik Zabrze responded before halftime when Kacper Urbański scored a precise long-range goal in the 40th minute.
Despite heavy pressure from Górnik Zabrze in the second half, Widzew goalkeeper Bartłomiej Drągowski made several key saves to maintain the draw. The result leaves Górnik Zabrze at the top of the table with 27 points, while Widzew Łódź remains without a home victory this season, sitting in 14th place.
Widzew coach Mateusz Stolarski noted that while the team showed strength in the first thirty minutes, they struggled with clinical finishing. He also addressed concerns regarding Karol Świderski, clarifying that the striker's substitution in the 60th minute was a planned tactical move rather than a response to a serious injury.
