Motorcycle accidents in Gallicano and Monno cause multiple injuries

Two separate serious motorcycle accidents occurred in Italy on August 18, 2026, resulting in multiple injuries.

In Gallicano, a motorcyclist from the province of Pisa collided with a Fiat Punto on the Fondovalle road. The impact caused the rider to suffer multiple traumas and fractures, including a serious head injury. The individual was transported to the hospital via the Pegaso emergency helicopter. Two occupants of the car sustained minor injuries and were treated on-site. Carabinieri are investigating the dynamics of the crash.

In Monno, a couple in their late 50s from Bergamo was critically injured on State Road 42 after their Ducati motorcycle struck a large deer that emerged from the woods. The impact killed the animal and threw both riders from the vehicle. The male driver lost consciousness after his helmet broke upon impact, while his wife suffered multiple severe bodily traumas. Emergency services responded with ambulances and medical vehicles to the scene.
