On 6 June 2026 a 38‑year‑old motorcyclist lost control on the B38a near the B36 interchange in Mannheim. He fell off his bike, suffered severe injuries and was taken to hospital. The motorcycle was a total loss, with damage estimated at about €3,000. Police opened an investigation into the cause of the crash.

Earlier that week, at the intersection of Max‑Brauer‑Allee and Bei der Johanniskirche in Altona, Hamburg, a motor scooter carrying a 44‑year‑old father and his seven‑year‑old daughter collided with a 57‑year‑old cyclist. The cyclist sustained serious upper‑body injuries and was rushed to the University Medical Center (UKE). The father and daughter were not injured, though the child was taken to a children’s hospital for observation. Police are also investigating this incident.
