Motorcycle collision near Orcutt leaves one dead and one injured

A two-motorcycle collision south of Orcutt in Santa Barbara County resulted in one fatality and one critical injury on Saturday afternoon, August 8, 2026.

Authorities identified the deceased as 64-year-old Timothy Greene, a resident of Corona. Emergency responders from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene near the northbound Highway 135 on-ramp at approximately 3:27 p.m. Greene was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second rider, a 60-year-old resident of Huntington Beach, sustained major injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment. The California Highway Patrol is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
