A severe motorcycle accident occurred on Wednesday at about 13:55 on the road between Zeitlofs and Trübenbrunn in the Bad Kissingen district of Germany. A 59‑year‑old rider and a 10‑year‑old passenger were thrown from the bike after the brakes reportedly locked, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway. Both victims sustained serious injuries and were air‑lifted by two rescue helicopters to nearby hospitals.

Police investigations revealed that the motorcycle's mandatory main inspection (HU) had expired more than ten years ago, meaning the bike should not have been on public roads. An investigative procedure for negligent bodily injury has been opened against the driver, and an expert will assess whether the prolonged lack of maintenance contributed to the brake failure.
