Motorcycle crashes in Germany leave riders seriously injured

A severe motorcycle accident occurred on a curve of the Speinsharter Straße near Eschenbach, Germany, when a rider on a Ducati lost control, fell down a 20‑metre embankment and sustained life‑threatening injuries. Emergency services, including a rescue helicopter, transported him to a nearby hospital and the road was closed for two hours.

In a separate incident in the night of 2–3 July, a 24‑year‑old rider on a Honda in the Otzenhausen district of Nonnweiler (Saarland) lost control in a left‑hand curve, fell onto the road and suffered multiple fractures. He was treated at a hospital in Lebach. Police suspect an oil spill caused the loss of control and have issued a call for witnesses.
