Motorcycle crashes injure youths in Corrientes, Argentina

Early Saturday morning on Avenida Maipú in the Doctor Montaña district of Corrientes, two motorcycles collided around 04:30. One rider, an 18‑year‑old girl, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Hospital Escuela. The driver of the second motorcycle fled the scene and police are investigating the hit‑and‑run.

Around 05:20 the following morning, a separate incident occurred at the intersection of Pastor Mujica and Costa Atlántica near Parque de los Niños. A man, also appearing to be in his teens, was riding a Gilera Smash 110 cc motorcycle in the opposite direction, apparently under the influence of alcohol. He lost control, fell heavily and was hospitalized. Police could not identify him at the scene, seized the bike and opened a legal inquiry.
