Motorcycle crashes on Brazilian highways leave one dead and several injured
Two separate traffic accidents involving motorcycles were reported on Brazil's federal highways. On the BR‑324 near Riachão do Jacuípe, three people were injured after a collision between two motorcycles; the rider of one bike suffered severe trauma, including suspected head injury and pneumothorax, and was placed in serious condition while the other two riders escaped with minor injuries.
On the BR‑101 near Eunápolis, a 24‑year‑old rider, Johann Lucas Araújo Neres, died after his Honda CG 160 collided head‑on with a truck. Police investigations noted witnesses saying the motorcyclist had performed dangerous maneuvers before the crash. The truck driver was unharmed. Both incidents are under police investigation to determine exact causes.
