On 13 June 2026 a 63‑year‑old motorcyclist travelling north on the L200 near Schoppernau, Austria, collided with an oncoming motorcyclist who was overtaking a car on the opposite carriageway. The veteran rider swerved right, struck the roadside wall and suffered injuries of unspecified severity. He was treated at the scene and taken to Dornbirn Hospital.
The other motorcyclist, dressed in black and riding a bike with a Feldkirch‑district licence plate, fled the scene without stopping. Witnesses say he later returned briefly before leaving again, still unidentified. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Au police station.
The investigation focuses on hit‑and‑run and negligent bodily injury.
