Motorcycle registrations rise in Serbia and across Europe

The motorcycle and moped industry is experiencing significant growth across Europe and Serbia. In the first half of 2026, new motorcycle registrations in the five largest European markets—France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom—reached 636,490 units, marking a 16.8% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

In Serbia, the popularity of two-wheelers is rising sharply. Registered motorcycles have increased by 13.3%, while moped registrations have grown by 8.9%, bringing the total number of registered two-wheelers in the country to 116,201.

According to data from Oxford Economics, the motorcycle industry generates €21.4 billion in GDP across Europe annually. For every euro of GDP directly created by motorcycle companies, an additional €1.80 is generated in other industries through indirect economic effects. The sector also supports approximately 389,000 jobs and contributes significantly to the tourism and hospitality sectors, particularly in rural areas.
