Motorcyclist dies in Cebu City taxi collision

A 25-year-old motorcycle rider died following a collision with a taxi on Osmeña Boulevard in Cebu City on the morning of Monday, August 10.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Osmeña Boulevard and R. Landon Street. According to the Cebu City Police Office Traffic Enforcement Unit, a 55-year-old taxi driver was making a left turn after a traffic light turned green when the motorcycle, traveling from the opposite direction at a high rate of speed, struck the vehicle. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and was declared dead at the scene.
