Motorcyclist dies in Coahuila highway accident

A 28-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Alexis Villegas García, died on Monday morning following an accident on the Torreón-Saltillo highway near Matamoros, Coahuila. The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. near the Las Meloneras junction in the Congregación Hidalgo ejido.

Preliminary reports indicate that the victim lost control of his vehicle due to hazardous road conditions. Recent heavy rainfall in the Laguna region left a dangerous accumulation of mud and sediment on the asphalt, making the surface highly slippery. Despite the rapid arrival of paramedics and rescue teams, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The National Guard Highways division has advised drivers to exercise extreme caution and reduce speeds in areas with water or mud accumulation.
