Motorcyclist dies in Iztapalapa crash

A motorcyclist died on Thursday afternoon following an accident on the Anillo Periférico Canal de Garay in the Iztapalapa borough of Mexico City. The incident occurred near 5 de Mayo Avenue in the Los Ángeles Apanoaya neighborhood.

According to witness reports, the driver was traveling at high speed toward Calzada Ermita Iztapalapa when they lost control of the vehicle, which was identified as a Vento Crossmax 330 Rally. The motorcyclist skidded and struck a concrete barrier separating the directions of traffic.

Paramedics from Iztapalapa Civil Protection arrived at the scene but could only confirm that the individual had no vital signs. Elements of the Mexico City Citizen Security Secretariat cordoned off the area to preserve the scene. Family members arrived later to identify the victim. The General Prosecutor's Office of Mexico City has launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident and whether other vehicles were involved.
