Multiple fatal traffic accidents reported across Africa and South America
Several fatal traffic accidents have been reported across different regions. In Kenya, at least 22 people died and 24 were injured when a bus collided with a truck on the highway connecting Nairobi to Mombasa near Mtito Andei. The bus was reportedly transporting passengers returning from a funeral.
In Angola, a collision on the EN-100 in Cuanza-Sul involving a Toyota Coaster bus and a stationary Sinotruk heavy vehicle resulted in six deaths and 14 injuries. Authorities suggest speeding and a lack of signaling for the broken-down truck contributed to the crash.
In Brazil, multiple individual accidents were recorded, including a fatal motorcycle collision with a utility pole in Rio Branco, a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a car in Cuiabá, and a fatal crash between a car and a truck in Curiúva, Paraná. Additionally, a collision on the MS-164 in Mato Grosso do Sul resulted in the deaths of a young couple and left a baby seriously injured.
