Motorcyclist Killed in Cajon Pass I-15 Crash, Lanes Closed

A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a truck on southbound Interstate 15 south of the Cajon Pass switchbacks in San Bernardino County, California, on the afternoon of August 7, 2026. The California Highway Patrol received the first report at about 12:59 p.m., and responders found the rider deceased at the scene. The exact sequence of events remains under investigation, with preliminary accounts indicating another vehicle may have swerved, causing the motorcycle to collide with a truck.

The crash prompted the closure of three of the four southbound lanes, leaving only the No. 1 lane open while investigators and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Coroner examined the site.
