Motorcyclist killed in collision with kangaroo near Forster

A 37-year-old male motorcyclist died following a collision with a kangaroo on Tuncurry Tip Road in Darawank, near Forster, north of Newcastle. Emergency services responded to the single-vehicle accident just before 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

Manning Great Lakes Police District officers located the deceased rider at the scene. A kangaroo was also found dead nearby, having died upon impact with the motorcycle. Police are requesting that anyone with dashcam or mobile phone footage of the incident contact Taree Police Station or Crime Stoppers. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
