Motorcyclist killed in Lompoc vehicle collision

A motorcyclist died following a collision with a passenger vehicle in southeast Lompoc on Thursday morning. The crash occurred at approximately 11:20 a.m. in the 1100 block of East Ocean Avenue.

Lompoc police reported that the rider sustained severe injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger in the other vehicle involved sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the passenger vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

According to Sergeant Scott Morgan, there is currently no evidence suggesting that drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision. East Ocean Avenue was temporarily closed in both directions to allow for the investigation.
