Eifel: Motorcyclist rescued after 19 hours in forest

A 69-year-old motorcyclist was discovered after lying injured in a forest area near Lützkampen in the Eifel region for approximately 19 hours. The accident occurred on Saturday afternoon when the man reportedly missed a right-hand curve on the K155, causing him to veer off the road and crash into a steep wooded area.

Despite several vehicles passing the site, the man remained undiscovered due to the low visibility of the forest. He was eventually found on Sunday morning by occupants of a passing car who noticed his motorcycle in the woods.

The victim, who was conscious but suffering from serious non-life-threatening injuries, was treated by emergency services and transported to a hospital via helicopter. Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the crash.
