Motorcyclist Ricardo Rodríguez Dies After Hit-and-Run on San Juan’s Avenida Circunvalación

Ricardo Rodríguez, a 57‑year‑old motorcyclist, died on Saturday after spending six days in intensive care following a hit‑and‑run collision on Avenida Circunvalación in San Juan. The crash occurred in the early hours of a Monday, when a Fiat Qubo driven by 48‑year‑old Mauricio Bisutti Bragagnolo struck Rodríguez, leaving him with severe head trauma, multiple fractures and a lung contusion. He was abandoned on the rain‑slick pavement and rescued only after a passerby called emergency services.

Rodríguez’s family, including his daughter who posted a grieving message on social media, has followed the investigation closely. Authorities initially charged Bisutti with aggravated negligent injuries and fleeing the scene, imposing 15 days of preventive detention and opening a preparatory investigation.
