Motorcyclist seriously injured in head-on collision on L 536

A serious head-on collision occurred on the L 536 between Schriesheim and Wilhelmsfeld on Saturday afternoon around 2:30 PM. A 44-year-old motorcyclow riding a KTM 990 Duke reportedly entered the oncoming lane during a long right-hand curve, likely due to inappropriate speed.

The motorcyclist collided frontally with an oncoming Kia Rio driven by a 55-year-old woman. The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and was transported to a hospital following initial on-site treatment. The driver of the car sustained minor injuries and was treated by emergency services at the scene.

Both vehicles were declared total losses. The L 536 was fully closed between the Altenbach junction and Wilhelmsfeld for more than two hours to allow for rescue operations, accident investigation, and cleanup. The Mannheim traffic service is conducting further investigations.
