Motore Sanità Summer School addresses local and global healthcare integration

The 13th edition of the Motore Sanità Summer School, titled ‘Glo-cal Health: Innovation from the Global World to Local Realities’, has concluded in Vicenza. The event brought together institutions, experts, and professionals to discuss how to translate global healthcare innovations—such as new therapies, technologies, and organizational models—into concrete, safe, and equitable care for all territories, with a specific focus on fragile and mountainous areas.

Regional Councilor Chiara Luisetto emphasized the Veneto Region's commitment to coordinated programming centered on local needs to bring policies closer to citizens. Senator Ignazio Zullo noted that beyond funding for the National Health Service, there is a critical need for systemic reorganization to address an aging population, declining birth rates, and the rise of chronic and degenerative diseases.

Key discussion topics included the sustainability and resilience of the national health service, the importance of prevention and vaccinations, chronic disease management, and access to advanced therapies like CAR-T. Proposed solutions for improving proximity of care include telemedicine and service-oriented pharmacies.
