Motoristé party to contest municipal elections in 63 Czech municipalities

The Motoristé party has announced its strategy for the upcoming municipal elections in the Czech Republic, scheduled for October 9 and 10. The party plans to run in 63 municipalities and will field a total of 1,300 candidates. Key focus areas for the party include independent candidacies in the major cities of Prague, Brno, and Ostrava.

Party leader Petr Macinka presented the plans at the Chamber of Deputies, noting that this marks the party's first nationwide municipal election campaign. The party's slogan, ‘Odvaha jít proti srsti’ (Courage to go against the grain), reflects their goal of providing a reaction to what Macinka describes as a ‘teflon world’ of overly correct politicians. The party's stated priorities include personal freedom, budgetary responsibility, common sense, and political courage.

Regarding the upcoming senate elections, Motoristé has decided not to run its own candidates in races where they lack a realistic chance of success. Instead, the party will support candidates from its coalition partners, ANO and SPD, starting from the first round.
