Motorola begins Android 17 rollout for Razr and Edge devices

Motorola has begun rolling out the Android 17 update to several eligible devices, including the Razr Ultra 2026 and Edge 60 Pro. The update, which utilizes the Hello UI interface, arrives approximately two months earlier than the previous Android 16 rollout for top-tier Edge devices.

A major feature of this software evolution is the introduction of Qira, Motorola’s proprietary personal artificial intelligence agent. While Qira is expected to be available on Razr and Edge models, Moto G devices are not anticipated to receive the AI assistant. The update also includes design overhauls to minimize visual clutter, enhanced multitasking capabilities, smarter notification management, and new display settings such as an HDR “Intensity” slider.

While Motorola is improving its update delivery speed, the company still trails competitors like Google and Samsung in terms of long-term support duration. While Google and Samsung offer up to seven years of updates for many models, Motorola typically offers three years, though the new Motorola Signature is expected to match the seven-year standard.
