Motorola begins Android 17 rollout for select smartphones
Motorola has begun the phased rollout of the Android 17 stable update to several smartphone models globally. Early deployments include the Motorola Signature and Moto G57 Power, with subsequent waves expected to reach the Edge, Razr, and Moto G lineups.
The update integrates Motorola’s Hello UI with Android 17’s core features. Notable enhancements include expanded lock screen personalization, such as customizable clock typography and widget framing, as well as new visual elements like Live Island-style updates around the selfie sensor and stackable widgets.
Security and functionality improvements include enhanced privacy controls, refined background app resource management, and new phishing detection for SMS, MMS, and RCS messages. Additionally, the update introduces real-time on-screen translation via Circle to Search and enables multi-platform Quick Share using QR codes.
