Motorola excludes Android 17 depth effect from Edge Fusion models

Motorola has confirmed that certain Android 17 features will be excluded from its Edge Fusion series. Specifically, the depth effect—a customization tool that allows subjects in photos to appear in front of the lock screen clock to create a three-dimensional look—is missing from the stable version of the software for these models.

A company representative stated that the decision to omit the feature was intentional, as Motorola plans to reserve specific Android 17 enhancements for its premium and foldable devices, such as the Motorola Signature and Edge 60 Pro.

While the Edge Fusion models will still receive other significant updates, including live activities and changes to the notification panel, there are currently no plans to bring the depth effect to the Fusion line through future updates.
