Motorola expands Android 17 beta program to include Edge, Razr and Moto G devices

Motorola opened registration for its Android 17 beta on 1 August 2026, inviting a limited number of users to test the new OS on a wide range of 2025‑2026 models. The rollout covers flagship and mid‑range phones, including the Edge 70 Pro, Edge 70 Plus, Edge 70 Neo, Razr 70 Plus, Razr +, and several Moto G variants such as the G Power (2025/2026) and G Play (2026).

The beta introduces refreshed lock‑screen clock designs, updated notification panels, a new volume mixer, Live Activities, a KI‑assistant named “Kira”, and a dynamic island‑style notification area. Motorola advises participants to back up data and keep the battery above 50 % before installing.

The stable Android 17 release is slated for flagship devices in autumn 2026, with lower‑priced models expected in early 2027, marking a faster update cadence than previous cycles.
