Motorola Signature 27 flagship unveiled with Snapdragon 8 Elite
Motorola has unveiled its new flagship smartphone, the Signature 27, at the Snapdragon Summit. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor and features a new naming convention intended to provide a clear identity for future generations.
Key technical specifications include a 200MP periscopic telephoto camera, a 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 main sensor, and audio integration through a partnership with Bang & Olufsen. To manage heat during intensive AI and gaming tasks, the phone utilizes the ArcticMesh cooling system, which incorporates diamond-infused thermal gel and a redesigned 3D vapor chamber.
A significant software development is that the Signature 27 will be the first non-Google Pixel device to officially support GrapheneOS. This compatibility is made possible by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, which includes the Memory Tagging Extension (MTE) required for the privacy-focused operating system. Motorola has also committed to seven years of system and security updates for the device.
