Motorway accidents cause major traffic disruptions in Hungary
Multiple major traffic accidents have caused significant disruptions on Hungarian motorways. On the M1 motorway, a collision involving four trucks occurred on the side heading toward Hegyeshalom, following the Hanság rest area. The accident at kilometer 152 resulted in a lane closure and traffic congestion exceeding five kilometers. Drivers are advised to exit at the Lébény-Mecsér junction and use Route 1 to rejoin the motorway at the Mosonmagyarvár junction.
Additionally, two trucks with technical failures are causing delays near Herceghalom on the M1 heading toward Budapest. Ongoing asphalt paving between kilometers 16 and 17 is also impacting traffic flow toward the capital.
On the M5 motorway, a four-vehicle collision involving two trucks and two passenger cars took place near Inárcs at kilometer 37. The accident, occurring on the side heading toward Budapest, has restricted traffic to a single lane. Firefighters from Dabacs are on-site performing technical rescues.
