Slapp Happy and Dreams In Fragments release new music collections

Virgin Records has released a two-disc CD reissue titled ‘Casablanca Moon / Desperate Straights’. The collection combines two seminal albums by the avant-garde pop and art rock band Slapp Happy, originally recorded between 1974 and 1975 in collaboration with members of the group Henry Cow. The music is characterized by a blend of European cabaret, jazz, swing, and avant-garde elements, featuring the vocals of Dagmar Krause.

In the symphonic metal genre, the Swiss band Dreams In Fragments has released their third album, ‘Shadows Of Afar’. Led by frontwoman Seraina Schöpfer, the album features cinematic production by guitarist Christian Geissmann. The release includes tracks such as ‘The Fairytale’s A Lie’ and ‘Tides Of Time’, utilizing a mix of operatic vocals and growls alongside medieval-inspired sounds.
