Motsi Mabuse discusses racism and personal life in new documentary
German television personality Motsi Mabuse is opening up about her personal life and experiences with racism in connection with the launch of two new WDR productions, including the documentary ‘Motsi & Oti - Meet the Mabuses’.
Mabuse, a judge on ‘Let’s Dance’, shared that she frequently encounters everyday racism, noting that these experiences often occur when she is not wearing makeup. She described being stopped at customs and facing discriminatory treatment in retail settings.
The new documentary series, available on the ARD Mediathek, explores her relationship with her sister, Oti Mabuse, and their shared journey from South Africa to Europe. The project aims to provide a more personal look at their lives, covering topics such as family, career challenges, and their cultural roots.
