Motsi Mabuse promotes conscious consumption in new series

Dancer Motsi Mabuse is promoting conscious consumption through her new Prime Video series, ‘Live Better for Less’. As part of the project, she sold 20 items via the platform Vinted, with the proceeds going to charity.

Despite her efforts to declutter, Mabuse noted that she cannot part with her shoes or her cream-colored designer wedding dress, which she is preserving for her daughter. She also keeps a pair of Jean Paul Gaultier jeans. Mabuse shared that her relationship with clothing is influenced by her childhood in South Africa during Apartheid, where she and her sister owned very few items. She has also adopted new shopping habits, such as leaving items in online carts for several days to avoid unnecessary purchases.
