Mount Athos and Meteora exhibition to open in Karditsa

An exhibition titled ‘Mount Athos and Meteora – A Journey through Monastic States’ is set to open at the Karditsa Municipal Gallery on October 10. The exhibition features remote-yet-faithful replicas of the twenty Holy Monasteries of Mount Athos and views of Meteora, accompanied by wall works by artist Michalis Vasilopoulos.

Organized by the Region of Thessaly and the Regional Unit of Karditsa in collaboration with the non-profit ‘International Relations of Culture’ and the Municipality of Karditsa, the event aims to showcase monastic traditions, architectural heritage, and Orthodox cultural wealth. The exhibition, which has previously been shown in other Greek cities including Larissa, will run until November 7, 2026.
