Mount Cusna summit reached by person in joelette

In a collaborative effort involving local associations, institutions, and volunteers, a person with a motor disability successfully reached the summit of Mount Cusna. Michelangela, known as Miki, completed the 2,121-meter ascent using a joelette.

The project was coordinated by G. A. S. T. and was the brainchild of its president, Giacomo Cibelli. The operation included technical support from climbers, athletes from Valorugby Emilia, and assistance from the Emilia-Romagna Alpine and Speleological Rescue service and the Tosco-Emiliano Apennines National Park.

The ascent began at the Passo della Cisa, with teams alternating between steering the joelette and providing physical momentum to reach the peak in approximately ninety minutes. Following the summit, the group continued across the Apennines toward Rifugio Battisti and Rifugio Segherie.
