Mount Hope Cemetery in New York Uncovers 100‑Year‑Old Grave After Storm
Strong winds of up to 89 km/h ripped a large Norwegian maple from the ground at Mount Hope Cemetery in New York state. The fallen tree exposed a previously hidden gravestone belonging to Edna Amelia Goodman Allen, who was born in 1892 and died in 1918 at age 26. The stone, although buried for more than a century, remains well preserved and its inscription is still legible. Cemetery officials said the gravestone will be cleaned and treated once the tree is removed. The incident, reported by Fox News, generated local and social‑media interest as a striking example of a natural disaster revealing a forgotten piece of history.
